Then get it out: The term chronic appendicitis , now rarely used , you have appendicitis or not , possible with out surgery, some may suffer for long time with out surgery, bursting is unlikely as adhesions will prevent. . If symptoms persists & ct shows removal is the best option.

?chronic appy: See dr. Hoepfner's excellent answer to a similar question on chronic appendicitis. If you truly have it (very rare) unfortunately there is really nothing short of removing it to prevent it from becoming acute appendicitis. Of course. It may never become acute appendicitis. You should be evaluated by a surgeon and have a very high threshold for removing an otherwise normal organ.
