Can a tooth infection cause skin to itch?

Typically not: Typically an infected tooth will not cause your skin to itch. Are you taking an antibiotic? Or any other medication? An allergic reaction can cause hives and itching . If you are taking any medications that may be causing an allergic reaction, take some benedryl. And call your dentist now.

Maybe: More likely a reaction to an antibiotic if you are taking one. If so stop and see dds/md.
