Bad nails: Usually you want to see a dermatologist (for toenails, see a foot specialist/podiatrist). Bad nails usually imply thick, dystrophic, dark or colored nails (not from nail polish) caused by nail fungus (=onychomycosis); bad toenails also imply elongated, severe incurvated toenails (ram's horn = onychogryphosis or pincer shaped = trumpet nail or omega nail) w/c require a visit to such a specialist.
