Is it safe to get a tattoo on arms or chest after double mastectomy?

Never safe: It is your body do what you want, but majority of physicians will dis courage you to the tatooing due to inherent potential risk of getting infections like hepatitis, hiv, syphilis, serious reaction to the metalic pigments, which also preclude you to get a MRI in future. You can not be blood donor for at least one year. If you decide to have reconstructive surgery , tattoo will be distorted.

Careful: Be careful with infection. Aft surgery lymphatic flow is affected. Specially if you had lymph nodes taken out.
