Probably: Most surgical stainless steel is not strongly magnetic. The area of the plate cannot be clearly imaged since the metal will produce severe artifacts. Also, imaging the area of the plate could result in significant heating of the plate and surrounding tissues as the plate absorbs the rf energy of the scan. Imaging of more remote areas could be ok.

Yes, but...: Yes it is possible. Stainless steel is non-ferromagnetic. However, it will cause artifact, making it difficult to evaluate the tissues adjacent to the plate.
