Tongue: Most likely cause is a clogged salivary gland with a mucous plug or calcific plug. Once the plug passes or is removed the swelling goes away. I recommend seeing your oral surgeon to have it checked and if needed treated.

Infection?: Could be from an infection or a blocked salivary duct.
