Painful? Long time?: Could be inflamed taste buds (benign), which are/are not painful. Could be herpes if painful. Warm salt water rinses and hydration help reduce inflammation. Anything on the tongue longer than 3 days see a dentist to make sure nothing serious!

Can't say: Your question cannot be answered without looking at your tongue have you changed tooth paste or mothrinses? You may be having a reaction to a food or chemical. Generally this sounds like a minor irritation that should heal by itself. Buif you have pain, swelling ot the area does not heal in a few days you should see a dentist for an evaluation.

The tongue naturally: Has little red dots. But, maybe you are noticing them more because of the white fungal infection that is making them more prominent. Get an exam and get it looked at.
