Yes: The length of the luteal phase really depends upon whether or not progesterone is being produced by the ovary after ovulation. Adding progesterone as a medication after ovulation may prolong the luteal phase. However, metabolism is different for different women and the lengthening of the luteal phase may be dose related. Remember that Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is not progesterone.
