Why can't i give blood if i had itp?

?antibodies: Because if you have antibodies in tyour blood that attack platelets, thaey could be given to the recipient. Also, itp may actuall be another condition, like lymphoma.

Generally you can if: You had acute itp as a child without recurrence, and now as an adult you have a normal platelet count, are not being treated for itp and you did not require splenectomy as a corrective measure when you were originally diagnosed. You may want to contact the red cross donation center in your area or your hematologist for clarification of your personal situation.
