What happens if after lap band surgery bulimia returns?

Need new surgery.: Sometimes the lap band breaks and if you're eating a lot it won't work. Lap band surgery is only part of the treatment. You need to continue to get psychiatric help so your bulimia does not return.

Treatment Needed: Bulimia will usually not be treated by a surgical treatment. It involves emotional and behavioral issues which require an approach that involves multiple modalities.

Seek help: If it is bulimia then you seek help. If your band is too tight and you have too much vomiting from the band, then check with your surgeon and get an adjustment and an upper GI (barium swallow x ray) to make certain the band is in good position. If you are eating overcooked food, or soft doughy food.
