Nothing: Your anesthesiologist will request that you do not eat anything at least 6 hours before your surgery. I would suspect your surgeon will ask you to switch over to very light meals or clear liquids the day before surgery. This can be confirmed with the surgeon. After the operation we will watch your progress before you are allowed to eat anything. Again this will be the surgeon.

Lap band: Before surgery, you should try to eat healthy and lose some weight (which will make surgery easier). Also want to do this because it is how you should be eating the rest of your life if you want to keep the weight off. After surgery, you usually start on liquids only and progress to solid food over the course if a month.
