IBS common in PCOS: According to a paper published in 2010 (dept. Of ob/gyn, cedars-sinai medical center, los angeles, ca) , yes. Pcos affects 5-10% of reproductive-aged women. Ibs is a chronic intestinal disorder that affects up to 20% of adults.Women with pcos have a higher prevalence of ibs compared to healthy controls. When ibs is present with pcos, a higher bmi and percent body fat is seen.

R/O IBS: IBS ( no correlation with PCOS) is a diagnosis of exclusion. IUC/CROHNS DZ/IBD is inflammation usually DX by BX IBS SX can be managed .You need a full exam and blood work. Especially screen for H pylori . Also stool screen x 3 for occult blood /parasite/ &colonoscopy./EGD While you are getting these items checked out you should stick to a gluten free diet TXPROBIOTICS/LEVSIN/BENTYL
