AB Resistance?: Generally we will prescribe peni- or Amoxicillin to treat dental infections. If there is no response in 2-3 days then we will go to a stronger antibiotic. I would like to think that you got your ab from a current trip to the dentist, but.. Go see your dentist and get a proper evaluation or a different ab.

Tooth infection: Amoxicillin is a broader spectrum antibiotic which focuses on gram positive bacterial infection. If it is not responding, generally they might change your antibiotic to a gram negative one like clindamycin. Talk to your dentist asap.

Dental infections: Usually do not respond simply by taking antibiotics. Three are three essential ingredients to to resolving infections. First, the cause must be eliminated. Second, the proper dosage, frequency and type of antibiotic must be prescribed. Third, the body will then help eliminate it. See your dentist asap to determine what is required next in your particular case.
