Need diagnosis: You need a more specific diagnosis. You are only describing a symptom. An ear ache in a 44 year old without any hearing loss may be related to the jaw joint, jaw muscles, or dental problems. If an ENT doctor can rule out ear disease, then see your dentist. To specifically answer your question, we have to make a diagnosis. If ear drum is normal, you do not have an ear problem.
