BPPV: The fact that the spinning lasts for seconds and is probably related to position sounds like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (bppv). This is a disorder of the inner ear wherein loose calcium carbonate stones move and cause the inner ear balance mechanism to be activated. Time, head exercises, or vestibular rehab by a physical therapist will help.
