Lupus : ANA negative lupus is rare . Doctors use the term ANA negative lupus for a small sub set of patients who have classic features of lupus but are ANA negative . Such patients may exhibit features of lupus on a kidney biopsy or skin biopsy . Such patients may have positive lupus anti bodies for for sm antigen , double stranded anti dna anti bodies etc. . See an experienced rheumatologist.
