A member asked:

Are hypertension and idiopathic intracranial hypertension related? bp elevates suddenly (i'm sitting quietly reading). ct-partially empty sella?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hypertension: Systemic hypertension can be associated with increased intracranial pressure in some cases. Idiopathic intracranial hypertension is just what its name implies, there is no obvious cause. It usually occurs independently of systemic hypertension.
