Caffiene: Usual adult half life of caffeine is 5 hours meaning the time required by the body to eliminate half of the amount ingested, smoking can double it, contraceptive pills can triple it and meds like Luvox (fluvoxamine) can increase the half life up-to 56 hours, caffeine is absorbed in the small intestine and reaches its peak in 1 hour.
