What does a technician look at during a pelvic ultrasound? do they look at bladder and kidneys?

No: The routine female pelvic ultrasound includes evaluationof the uerus , ovaries and area between the ovaries and uterus. The bladder is present on the examination but is frequently not fully evaluated. In some practices a limited view of the kidneys is obtained but this is certainly ot the standard nor is it routine.

Uterus, ovaries and: The surrounding tissues are the focus. Incomplete imaging of the bladder usually also happens. Kidneys and bladder are imaged with a retroperitoneal ultrasound, along with the aorta.
