Medicine: The medicine we use in orthodontics is light continuous force. Braces allow us to attach teeth to guide wires. Force systems such as elastics, springs, etc, allow us to slide the teeth along the wire. Different amounts of force, direction of force, and timing of force move teeth in desired directions. Remember, everyone is different so your elastic directions are unique to solving your problem.
