I haven't been wearing my bands (braces). what could happen?

Wasting time/money: If your orthodontic specalist has given you instructions and you are not following them to the letter, your malocclusion will not be as well corrected and it will take considerably longer to achieve a compromised result. You can actually do harm. If braces have been removed and you are not wearing retainers as directed the correction may relapse. You're throwing away time and money.

More problems: Your orthodontist has given you instructions in the wear and care of your appliances including elastics(rubber bands) because they are an integral part of the treatment plan. Failure to comply ensure that the result will be far less than anticipated, and may result in additional unanticipated consequences to your teeth. Assist your doctor in assuming responsibility for your care.
