My 3 year old experiencing severe teeth pain?

Why?: The question is why the pain? If a tooth is erupting, then a pain reliever such as acetominophen or Ibuprofen may help. If it is an existing tooth, there must be a problem and you should see a pediatric dentist.

Teething?: Sometimes it can be due to teething but to be safe, i would take him/her to a child's dentist, a pedodontist, to rule out infection or anything serious.

Many reasons: Can be from erupting teeth as 3 year molars come in. Can be from tooth or gum infection. If upper back teeth can be from sinus infection. Can be from parafunctional habits. I assume that your child has a Dentist or Pedodontist, and you have been going regularly since 1st b'day. The Dentist has a baseline for comparison. Please go now.
