Rubberbands help: Triangular rubberbands, or elastics, have several uses in orthodontic treatment. Two of the most frequent uses are to extrude teeth into their proper position in the bite, and to stabilize the lower jaw midline so that the lower jaw bites into a stable, repeatable position.
