Allergies Clog Ears: Allergies are a very common cause of clogged ears. The pressure behind the eardrums is kept normal by a tube that goes from the middle ear to the back of the nose. Allergies cause swelling in the back of the nose, swelling the opening to that tube closed, causing the ear pressure.
