Although it's possible for a pill or capsule to lodge in the esophagus, another possibility is an abrasion on the inner lining of the esophagus; that could create the sensation that the pill or capsule is hung up. It would be appropriate to urgently see an otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat specialist) to enable the Dr to use a small flexible "scope" to visualize the area.
