Rough crown: If your root canal is done correctly (especially by an endodontist) then the rough crown with a hole can be replaced with a porcelain crown that has low abrasion to the opposing teeth and will feel like a real tooth. As far as the opposing tooth, depending on the loss a conservative, ceramic only can be placed or even bonding and contouring if minor. See a qualified dentist.

Reevaluation: The current crown needs to be reevaluated by your general dentist to determine if it can be saved or if it needs replacement. Metal and porcelain can be polished, but it appears that a lot more is going on here.
