May be infected: Otitis externa or media needs to be ruled out. Perforation also needs to be ruled out. Dont put anything in your ear. See your family doc and let him look in your ears. He may send you to an ear dr but may just put you on antibiotics and or ear drops.

Swimmer's ear: This sounds like an infection of the ear canal commonly called 'swimmer's ear'. You should see your doctor to make a correct diagnosis and remove excess wax if needed. Ear drops are then used to get rid of the infection. This is sometimes caused by excessive cleaning with cotton swabs which pushes wax farther into the ear. If water then gets trapped it can become infected.
