Can't say: The lungs of all babies are totally filled with amniotic fluid and are airless before they take their first breath. Sometimes, the fetus has a bowel movement (meconium) in the womb and may aspirate the meconium stained fluid into the lungs which can result in a pneumonia with residual lung damage. If there are no acute lung findings your doctor may not see the need to x-ray them.
