Difficult: difficult to answer this without more information. however, the bright side is if its cancerous it was found early. probably better to ask the treating physician. anything is possible, hard to say if cancer or not without further testing. if it was cancer it would most likely be Bronchioloalveolar carcinoma which has a high survival rate and highly treatable.

Maybe: Important to compare the old and new chest studies. Sometimes a small nodule can be difficult to see because of overlying bones. If the finding is new it will required further evaluation most likely with a CT and probably a CT guided needle biopsy. If the nodule can be seen on older films going back years it is not likely to be significant.
