Diverticulitis: The left lower abdominal quadrant is the most frequent site where one feels pain during an episode of diverticulitis. It can be a recurring problem, treated with antibiotic immediately upon noting pain. For recurring episodes, a laparoscopic removal of the area of the colon with diverticuli (usually in the sigmoid colon) can cure the problem.
