Uric acid: Uric acid results from the breakdown of purines predominately from meat. And animal byproducts. There ar hereditary factors that dictate this to some extent. At times there are metabolic abnormalities either with the excretion of uric acid or with a failure of improper metabolism of the uric acid resulting in gout.
