A member asked:

Why does my callus on ball of my foot/under 2nd toe hurt so bad when i rub it around the edges? esp near the top near my toes. does it have deep core?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neuroma: It sounds like the pain is really coming from a neuroma due to the fact you have pain on the top of your foot above the area. The callus is present due to aberrant pressure to the area and often coincides with neuromas in the 2nd interspaces. See a podiatrist and a series of alcohol injections can rid you of the pain. A neuroma is a scarring and enlargement of the common digital nerve.
