Variable: The uterus responds to ovarian hormones by bleeding or not bleeding. If hormones are adequate & balanced, bleeding is absent until the drop in Progesterone (if not pregnant) induces menstrual bleeding. Hormone imbalance can cause irregular & unpredictable uterine bleeding among other symptoms.
