Sharp pain: Possible causes for sharp tooth pain are: deep decay that is affecting the nerve or perhaps a cracked tooth. If the tooth hurts to biting pressure and cold then--a cracked tooth. If it hurts when you eat something sugary, then decay. Either way--see your dentist asap. A root canal may be in your future...
