A member asked:

Is it ok to use a crown to cover chipped, cracked or broken tooth?

Yes: Depending on the extent if the chip / break / fracture. Endodontic therapy might be indicated. The periodontal status of the affected tooth also has to be evaluated for viability of the crown. Hope this helps.

Conservative: Depending on the extent of the damage, a crown can be used. There are more conservative options for lesser damaged teeth, like bonding or ceramic inlays/onlays. See a qualified contemporary dentist to give you your range of options and to do the appropriate treatment.

It is OK: Dental crowns are designed to encase and protect teeth that have been weakened by decay, infection, or serious structural damage. See your dentist for examination, x-ray and crown if needed.
