Whitening: Whitening is a cleaning process that removes organic stain from the pores of enamel. The stronger and longer it is exposed to the tooth the more stain is removed. Strips are a low strength, short duration and non custom fit option that will remove some stain but not all. The amount may be good enough for you else you need to see a dentist for approved options. They also work well for touchups.

Effective, expensive: White strips have the same active ingredient found in most tooth bleaches. They are quite effective but can be more costly than custom made bleaching trays and bleaching gel.
