A member asked:

If amoxilicin clears up abscess and there's no pain, does a broken tooth need to be extracted?

The tooth: Might still need to be endodontically treated first (root canal). Your dentist will be best able to answer that question once he has examined you and has an xray to evaluate the lesion, bone loss, periodontal status, etc. Hope this helps.

Depends: You need to see a dentist. If it has a small break, and is restorable, then the dentist will explain your treatment, which includes root canal treatment, buildup and crown. If the breakage is large or the tooth has a significant crack and is not restorable, the tooth will need to be removed. They will also evaluate the bone support for this tooth.
