Slight discomfort: The makers of these solutions are well aware that this is a common event and so these solutions are made to not cause harm in this event. You can eliminate the stinging with ordinary lubricating eyedrops but the cleaner will simply be uncomfortable for a little while but not cause any meaningful harm.
