Not safe: Losing 10 lbs in one week is generally not a good idea. That is too rapid of a weight loss and essentially means you would likely have to be starving yourself to lose that amount of weight. A good rule of thumb to follow is to lose up to 2-3 lbs per week.

Not healthy: It is not healthy to lose more than a couple pounds a week. Ten pounds in one week would be way too many, and would suggest an unhealthy weight loss.
