UTI : Some bacteria that cause the infection could be resistant to the antibiotic given. The medicine may inhibit the infection causing bacteria but not kill them off. When the meds run out, the infection symptoms come back. If a urine culture was done, that would show what meds are best to use against the infection. May need to be tested again.
