It depends: Glasses are given to children for many reasons. Sometimes it is for eye crossing or to help fix a "lazy eye" or amblyopia. Many of these children "outgrow" their glasses when they become teens due to eye growth. Many do not. Most children with significant nearsightedness or astigmatism will always need optical correction to see optimally.
