Problematic sleep: Dear wombat, i don't deal with hydrocephalus in my practice. I am not able to give you any tailored medical advice but it is important to use good sleep hygiene. Retire & rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark & cool & use only for sex & sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs & no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner >.

Sleep specialist: See a sleep specialist. They will want you to complete a sleep diary and have your sleep schedule confirmed by actigraphy which measures your movements and gives an objective measure of you sleep patterns. This will then either lead to a diagnosis or a sleep study will be ordered. Once your diagnosis is established, a treatment plan will be devised for you. Good luck!
