Scoliosis: Scoliosis is a descriptive term meaning curvature of the spine. Some people have it as a youth and it can progress as you age. The most common cause in your is idiopathic, we don't know. As we age and develope degenerative changes we can also develop curving. Great informative web site: www.Isoliosis.Com. Explains process, amounts, causes , and treatments.

Varies: Most cases of scoliosis are idiopathic, meaning there is no known cause. You may very well have had the scoliosis since you were a teenager. When the discs in the spine along the curve begin to wear down, this causes the degenerative changes you are describing. Thank you for the question.
