If you have a cut on your lip (you bit off dry skin and it bled) could something like staph bacteria infect it or is possibility low?

Possible: The skin provides great protection and any time there is an opening in it, there is the possibility of an infection. Keep the area clean and you can even place some topical antibiotic cream on it if need to be to profoundly decrease your chances of getting an infection. Good luck.

Lip sore: It's always best to use a spf lip balm in your pocket. If your lips are dry, treat the problem. The staph infection is low on the possibility scale unless you are immunocompromised. Keep your lips moist with lip balm and don't lick them, that actually makes it worse.
