Diabetic ulcer: Staph wound infection especially in a diabetic is very serious and requires immediate treatment. If he has more lesions which are draining he needs to be seen by his doctor right away. IV antibiotics may need to be started and sometimes surgery to remove dead skin or even amputation may need to be done. Delay can result in blood infection or septicemia which can be life threatening.
