Either: You can take it either day or night. Sometimes this can cause some agitation and insomnia taken at night so it is wiser to start taking it in the am.

Either: I tell my patients to take it during the night if it makes them tired, in the morning if it keeps them awake , and to take half a dose twice a day if it does both.

Day or night: You can take it day time or night time but since it is once a day take it same time every day.

Lexapro (escitalopram): Straterra is a good medication, but not for all people with all symptoms. Lexapro (escitalopram) can be taken at any time of day that you'll remember to take it. However, some of my patients have found that it causes insomnia -- so they're better off taking it in the morning. In others it causes sleepiness -- these would be better off taking it at night.
