U have 24 hrs: From the time of the cut to get stitches.After that, they don't help much.Make sure u r up to date with tetanus vaccination, keep it clean and dry.Ig gets infected , c ur doc.

If not: Bleeding then doubt you need stitches but be on alert for sign of infection. If doesn't start to heal within 2-3days may need stitches.

Better safe: Get it checked out, flushed, and then your pcp can decide if you need antibiotics and stitches. Better safe than sorry.
