Have metabolic induced foot drop(b12 deficiency, from a partial gastrectomy), ideas about recovery time? (b12 is helping, also w sleep & appetite.)

Recovery varies: If you had experienced solely, loss of myelin coverings from outside of nerve, once the b-12 was replenished, healing should have occurred within 4-5 wks total, but a focal foot drop may be secondary to mechanical problems over lateral knee and perhaps a secondary complication, in which case, needs an updated emg, and if the axon, grows back at 0.1 mm daily.

Peripheral Neuropath: You likely have peripheral neuropathy caused by B12 deficiency. This causes death to the axon fibers of the nerve and this can be a long recovery process. It can take up to 24 months for recovery but unfortunately it may not fully recover depending on the extent of initial nerve damage.
