Soft tissues: Mid-thirties female with "hip" pain worsened by lying on that side, with walking, & absent mechanical injury likely suffers a soft tissue injury that will not manifest on imaging studies. Careful physical examination can discern between inflamed ligaments, tendons, & bursa; the last being a candidate for this pain pattern. Osteopaths have skill to perform differential diagnosis of this problem.
