A member asked:

I have "abnormal cells" in my pap smear with negative hpv. i have no symptoms. is this common in menopause? my doc says it is. repeating pap 4 mos

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The Pap intends: To looks at cervical cells, but can also collect endometrial lining cells. I'd not contradict your doctor, and the pace of re-exam is fine. Next step is a visit to gyn oncologist for "colposcopy" and biopsy, or a D&C to look at the endometrium. You do not mention bleeding: reg/irreg, heavy light, painful intercourse. Pose these to your doc.
